Broken Buttons
Non-Responsive Buttons
If your phone button does not click, feels jammed or not longer responds usually replacing the button should resolve it. Other reasons why a button may not solve the problem is if the housing or frame of the phone is dented and not allowing the button to work correctly. In witch case a housing repair is in order.
Soldered buttons are no problem
If your device has a button that is soldered to the circuit board then we can replace it. A lot of shops turn these down do to lack of skill / ability. We have no issue swapping surface mounted devices.
Many buttons are also sensors
Many buttons are also finger print scanners. These are actually sensors that are built into a button. On most Samsung devices we can replace the button and retain finger print scanning ability. On iPhone 5s to 6s+ we can replace the button to restore home button functionality but you will loose finger print scanning ability (Apple will rarely replace these or reprogram them) but at the very least get a functional button back. iPhone 7 and newer if the home button fails the phone becomes un-repairable. Huge “screw you” to the consumer and the repair industry. Please support Right to Repair legislation.
How long does a button repair take?
For iPhones the repair takes about one hour. For Samsungs, LG and some other brands we do the repair between 1-3 hours when the part is in stock.
Are there buttons you don't fix?
Some buttons cannot be replaced easily due to accessibility to the device. This would be because of glued parts, delicate screen removal or part sourcing. Don’t hesitate to check with us.
Can you replace iPhone 7/7+ or 8/8+ home buttons?
Unfortunately no. Apple disables the device if the home button is damaged. A real jerk move if you ask me. Only they can re-program them. We will likely be servicing the phone long after Apple does and it is a shame they do this because many people with potentially fixable phones will be turned down to Apples selfish programming.
If another shop tore the cable we may be able to patch it to rescue the data.
Can you install my part?
We don’t like to but we can. We don’t recommend using parts found on ebay, amazon or so on. We have build a strong relationship with our vendor and have figured out the best quality parts so you don’t have to. Our parts are competitively priced and usually we save people money by using our supply. You also get our 90 day warranty when we install our part. With your part the warranty is between you and who you purchased it from. We are just doing installation.
How difficult of a repair is this?
We certainly recommend having a professional do the repair. A lot of small components, fine adhesive and careful hands are needed.
