Frequently Asked Questions
Are diagnostics free for custom-built or gaming PCs?
No and yes. Standard laptop/phone diagnostics are usually free, but troubleshooting a custom or high-end gaming/production PC can take many hours of testing and part swapping.
We charge a $150 Solution Fee for these machines. The fee is 100% credited toward any repair we perform. If you choose to fix it yourself after we identify the problem, you only pay the $150. We guarantee the diagnosis is correct.
What’s the process for a new build or repair?
Repairs → Drop off the PC; we usually diagnose in 1–3 days.
New builds → Come by the shop in person. We’ll discuss your needs, budget, and build a detailed parts list together on the spot (no obligation, but we only quote custom builds in person).
How long does a repair or diagnostic take?
1–3 days is typical, but intermittent issues (bad RAM, CPU, random crashes, etc.) can take longer. We keep you updated daily.
How long does it take to build a new computer?
With parts in stock and a deposit, we’ve finished builds in 3 days. Normal turnaround is 5–10 business days, up to 2 weeks max during busy periods or when waiting on specific parts.
Do you accept credit cards? Is there a cash discount?
Yes, we accept cards, but we pass on the processing fee (~2.6–3%) because of the high cost of PC parts. Example: ~$40–45 on a $1,500 build. Pay with cash, check, or Zelle and you avoid the fee completely.
Can I just email or call for a full custom build quote?
We’re happy to send specs, but we only create detailed custom quotes in person. We’ve spent hundreds of hours in the past on quotes that went nowhere — a quick visit ensures we’re both serious and saves everyone time.
Will you build a PC with parts I supply?
Yes, as long as everything is compatible. Labor is still warrantied for 30 days, but parts warranty goes through the original manufacturers (we can’t extend our normal 1-year warranty when you supply the components).
